IMPROVING ACCESS TO CARE IN RURAL INDIA "Sanitation and health education in village communities through improved awareness and knowledge of prevention/management of diseases and health promotion (sevak) project"
Clean Drinking Water
In villages where there is a high total deposit solid (TDS), reverse osmosis plants have been made available. This was possible because of the partnership with WHEELS Global Foundation USA. This is an IIT alumni organization based in Washington, DC, USA. They have provided the funding for the RO plants. We now have two Sevak villages with RO plants, Agiya, Sabarkantha Dist and Jalat, Dahod Dist. The plan is to check water in all the Sevak villages. RO plant is Agiya has resulted in fewer abdominal problems in school children and it is easier to cook the food for children.
